Hood Smart

Hood Smart: The Urban STEMulus Project shines a light on talented African-American students that are excelling in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math! We aim to shift the focus from the negative images we often see on reality television to highlighting and celebrating the creative genius of students growing up in urban communities all across America.

We know that sitting in America’s urban classrooms are some of the most brilliant students in the world! We know that these students have the ability to be the innovative game changers we need to compete in science, technology, engineering and math on a global scale. Yet this brilliance is being hidden, and many of our young people are falling prey to destructively false messages about their aptitude and value. Our team of passionate educators, STEM experts, media moguls and environmental activists are committed to using their talents to create a manuscript for Black students to rewrite their narrative. Through this revolutionary show, we will change the perception of how our youth perceive themselves and their role in the world around them.
